Almost completely lost in the Swiss alpage, you can walk straight out the door of our little chambre d’hotes to explore the extensive, well signposted & maintained forest & alpine walking tracks. 

Or take the car a few minutes further afield to profit from alpine walks and bike tracks, extending from Switzerland into France. 
For a less energetic outing, drive 30 minutes to Lake Geneva & take the boat over to Evian in France, or continue 45 minutes down the vineyard drenched lake coast to exploring along the way the famous towns of Montreux and the medieval town of Lausanne with their rich variety of galleries, museums and historical sights. 
Finish with a trip to one of the nearby thermal baths to restore those muscles and minds.

Covid-19 measures taken at Chalet Ingas Chambre d’hotes

As the total number of guests at any one time at Chalet Ingas is 4, this automatically keeps all spaces easily maintainable for social distancing between guests and hosts in all common areas. Common areas are regularly ventilated during the stay, when possible. Masks are available (free) and happily worn upon request. 24 Hours between each booking, allowing full ventilation and time for enhanced cleaning practices.

The Chalet

Chalet Ingas is a traditional alpage chalet originally built in 1911 and now beautifully renovated as a family home. Enjoy complete privacy at the foot of the Alps, with stunning views across the valley, directly to the local landmark Dents du Midi mountain range. A large terrace with lawn space and garden allow you space to breathe, with no neighbours except the soft clanging of the cow bells. A unique spot to enjoy a hearty breakfast with our home grown eggs before embarking on a day of hiking, snow sports or sightseeing.

Plan your travel

A car is essential, but free parking is available at the bottom of the road, followed by a 10-15 minute walk up the forest path until you arrive at the chalet where the forest opens up to reveal stunning views. 

The walk is a little steep in places – perfect as a 'warm up' for your daily hikes! So don’t forget your backpacks and sturdy shoes. If guests are staying for an extended period, your host can drive you and your belongings up and down with the 4x4 upon arrival and departure, unless the track is snowed in.

Our Amenities

The dormitory room for guests at the top of the chalet has both a double & single bed, with a fold-out sofa if required, & private shower and toilet. A TV room is available to guests with satellite TV and a DVD with an extensive film library available and of course free wifi.

There are no kitchen facilities available to guests, although the guest room has a kettle and coffee & tea making facilities as well as a bar fridge. Guests are welcome to make a picnic dinner at the dining table either inside or on the terrace, and there’s a BBQ if desired.

Alternatively, with a24-hours notice, your host can provide a homemade spaghetti bolognese with salad or raclette at a charge of Sfr25 / person (alcoholic beverages extra). Packed lunches can be requested at a small surcharge with a day's notice. Or just jump in the car for a 10-minute drive to the village shops and restaurants or a few minutes further afield for alpage restaurants throughout the famous Portes du Soleil region.

A D V E N T U R E

The permanent residents are Australians who have been living in Switzerland for over 20 years, with our cats Bruce and Sheila and our chickens Henny, Penny and Jenny. 

We speak English at home but we also speak French, with the addition of some German (depending on who's home when you visit).

We are looking forward to meeting you and sharing the Swiss mountain experience!
